During the event, participants will not only learn how to plant baby longleaf pines but will also get an exclusive tour of the preserve. Nestled at the confluence of Olustee Creek and the Santa Fe River, Santa Fe Springs Preserve covers 254 acres of stunning natural beauty, featuring two freshwater springs and a variety of wildlife. From towering live oaks and cypress trees to alligators and wading birds, the preserve is a vibrant ecosystem waiting to be explored.
This is a great opportunity to connect with nature and contribute to the environment. To participate, please RSVP by emailing info@alachuaconservationtrust.org. Remember to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring along water, snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen. Gloves and planting tools will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer.
